Exchange field security policies

You can exchange field security policies with other D365 FO environments.

With this file, you can import the field security policy in another D365 FO environment. This topic explains how to export a field security policy to a file. This setup is included in the export: The selected field security policy with the table setup, field setup, and condition setup. All versions or a specifically selected version of the field security policy. The linked company groups. The companies as defined in the company groups are not exported. Procedure 1. Go to Dynamic field security management > Policies > All field security policies. 2. In the list, find and select the desired field security policy. 3. On the Action Pane, click Deploy. 4. Click Export policy to file. 5. In the Download file field, you can change the default file name as desired. 6. You can run the export of a field security policy in the background. Usually, you do so if you export a field security policy with many elements. While the field security policy is exported, you can continue with other activities in the environment. Select Yes in the Run in background field. Note: If you run the export: - Not in the background, the created XML file is downloaded automatically to your local download folder. - In the background, the created XM file is not downloaded, but it is stored in the Download transactions. 7. Select Yes in the Export specific version only field. 8. In the Version number field, enter or select a value. 9. Click OK. Export run in  background? Export run in  background? You can download the XML file to your local download folder. Procedure 1. Go to Dynamic field security management > Policies > All field security policies. 2. In the list, find and select the desired field security policy. 3. On the Action Pane, click Deploy. 4. Click Download file. 5. In the list, find and select the desired XML file. 6. Click Download. 7. Close the page.
